Shining a Spotlight on Remarkable Medical Research

On May 9th, the Yale School of Medicine hosted its annual Student Research Day at the Anlyan Center. This event marked the first in-person gathering since 2019, infusing the occasion with a sense of excitement and anticipation.

As the day unfolded, medical school students unveiled their award-winning research, showcasing their impressive contributions to the field. The entire medical school community was invited to witness their talented peers’ presentations and listen to the distinguished keynote speaker, Dr. Neil R. Powe, who captivated the audience with his wealth of knowledge and insights.

Among the highlights of the day was the prestigious Dr. John N. Forrest Mentorship Award, which was bestowed upon Cassius Char, an accomplished Associate Professor of Surgery. This recognition underscored the invaluable role of mentors in shaping the future of medical research.

The Yale School of Medicine students excelled in presenting their research findings, delivering compelling oral presentations that left a lasting impression on the audience. Students who did not present attended in support of their classmates, highlighting the supportive nature of the medical school community.
