Rare Book School(RBS) provides innovative and outstanding educational opportunities to study the history, care, and use of written, printed, and digital materials. Through the hands-on, intensive examination and analysis of textual artifacts in seminar-style classes taught by an international faculty of distinguished scholars and professionals, Rare Book School fosters the knowledge and expertise essential to the responsible stewardship of the historical archive in all its richness and pluriformity. Promoting a spirit of learning and intellectual generosity, Rare Book School builds and enriches relationships among booksellers, collectors, conservators, educators, librarians, and other individuals from around the globe to create a community equipped to advance historically informed understandings of our cultural heritage.
Sponsored by the National Student Leadership Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, nonpartisan, education organization, the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) provides a select group of outstanding high school students with the opportunity to participate in fast-paced, high-level, interactive summer sessions. Through the NSLC, students are able to experience life on a college campus; develop essential leadership skills; and explore a future career through exciting simulations, exclusive site visits and interactive meetings with renowned leaders in their chosen field. The Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) is a program of the AIFS Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. At Yale, SIG offers a 3-week summer academic program for gifted and academically talented students ages 13-17. At SIG students enroll in 4 classes from the subject areas of STEAM, arts, and recreation. The class options offered cover interesting topics such as biopsychology, medical microbiology, astrophysics, quantum mechanics, podcast production, graphic design, fencing, and many more! SIG at Yale University is a Residential Program with a day commuter and day-evening-Saturday commuter options.
