The Ninth North American Syriac Symposium took place at the Yale Divinity School and Humanities Quadrangle from June 11th to 14th. This symposium, held every four years since 1991, brings together students and scholars to discuss the history, literature, culture, and language of Syriac Christianity on a global scale.

The symposium, held in person at the Yale Divinity School, welcomed attendees from diverse backgrounds and countries. The theme of the event, “Syriac at the Center,” emphasized the importance of Syriac papers in scholarly research. Over 100 scholarly papers were presented, reflecting the growing interest in studying Syriac Christianity.

Throughout the symposium, scholars from various universities shared their research, while attendees had the opportunity to listen to inspiring lectures. Assisting in the planning and execution of the event was an incredible experience for the YC&E team. Witnessing students and scholars from around the world come together, share their research, and connect with one another was extremely rewarding.
