Bulldog Days returns, bigger and better

Wednesday, May 18, 2022

After a long two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Bulldog Days returned to campus last month. This undergraduate admissions event gives admitted students a glimpse into all that Yale has to offer and is one of the biggest events on campus. This year’s event was the biggest one yet, with over 1,400 newly admitted students visiting our beautiful campus. Yale Conferences & Events had the pleasure of assisting with this event along with many of our campus partners.

Over the course of the three-day event, the class of 2026 participated in numerous activities ranging from campus tours, pizza parties, scavenger hunts around New Haven, and yes, meeting Handsome Dan

Yale treated admitted students to a special “pizza tour” right on Old Campus, serving pizza from various acclaimed restaurants throughout the New Haven area. Students enjoyed everything from Sally’s thin crust pizza to BAR’s famous mashed potato pizza and more. President Peter Salovey even made a special appearance and handed out slices to students.

Next on the agenda was the Yale Showcase at the Shubert Theatre. This event is meant to showcase Yale’s artistic groups, such as The Yale Bands, The Whiffenpoofs, Yaledancers, and many others. The night was filled with so much talent and a true appreciation for the arts. An ice cream social was the cherry on top of the whole day, thanks to Yale Hospitality, DJ Marv, and Yale’s mascot.

On the second day, admitted students attended the Yale Academic Fair, where they visited various informational booths to learn more about Yale’s academic offerings. Our guests had the opportunity to listen to panels of students and professors talk about academics, extra curriculars, and the lifestyle at Yale.

And last but certainly not least, admitted students were treated to some of New Haven’s best food trucks on their last day on campus. It is safe to say that Yale made a lasting impression on our guests, with many of the admitted students accepting their admissions offer to Yale that very day! Seeing groups of students crowded around that one individual as they clicked the “accept” button and hearing the crowd go into an uproar, is something that cannot be beat!
