Nathan Lubich Presents at ACCED-I 2022 Conference in Atlanta, Georgia

Tuesday, March 8, 2022

Our very own Nathan Lubich, Associate Director of Operations, presented at the 42nd annual ACCED-I conference in Atlanta, GA. Nathan’s educational session, “Beyond On-Call: Setting up a staffed 24-hour summer office”, shared the lessons Yale learned when trying to come up with the best way to provide 24/7 customer service to summer clients.

While Yale, like many other institutions, has a 24/7 security and facilities presence on-campus, it does not have a residence life department and Yale Conferences & Events takes on all housing responsibilities during the summer. In additional to coordinating assignments, check-ins, and setups, YC&E is also the primary point of contact for any housing need a client has during their stay. Starting with a satellite office in each college open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, YC&E made the move to a central office location that was staffed 24 hour a day, seven day a week throughout the entire summer.

His presentation explored some of the benefits and challenges to setting up an office that is staffed 24/7 as well as opportunities for adapting a similar model to the specific needs of other institutions.
