Future leaders in medicine experience Yale during Second Look 2025

Tuesday, April 29, 2025

On April 10th and 11th, over 250 of the world’s top medical school candidates were invited to campus for Yale School of Medicine’s Second Look Weekend, offering an immersive two-day experience as students made their final decisions on where to pursue their MD or MD-PhD.

Throughout the event, prospective students toured Yale’s medical campus, attended lectures, panel discussions, and networking receptions, and got a true taste of both Yale and New Haven life. Event spaces included The Anlyan Center, Café Med, the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library, Yale University Art Gallery, Yale Anatomy Lab, Simulation Lab, Gryphon’s Pub, and Olives and Oil.

Highlights included a Taste of New Haven party at Gryphon’s Pub featuring dishes from five legendary local restaurants, tail wags from Handsome Dan, and a final evening cocktail reception hosted by alumni at Olives and Oil. Students also heard from Dean Nancy Brown and Dean Jessica Illuzzi, and attended the inaugural Forrester ‘Woody’ Lee Lecture given by Dr. Damani Pigott from the Office of the Provost.

Yale Conferences & Events proudly supported the Second Look Weekend, managing:

  • Printing and design of event materials, posters, banners, and slides
  • Custom-branded chocolate bars for attendees
  • Catering coordination across multiple venues
  • Furniture rentals and facilities management
  • AV and event support staffing
  • Hotel room blocks and travel reimbursements

We were honored to assist Director of Admissions Erik Choisy and the Yale School of Medicine team in showcasing the best of Yale to this impressive group of future medical leaders.
