Exploring labor and development at the 2025 Kuznets Lecture

Thursday, March 27, 2025

YC&E was proud to support the 34th annual Simon Kuznets Memorial Lecture, hosted by the Yale Economic Growth Center at Kline 14 on February 27th. Since its inception in 1987, this distinguished event has featured leading economists discussing critical issues in economic development.

This year’s lecture, “Development and the Organization of Labor,” was delivered by Oriana Bandiera, the Sir Anthony Atkinson Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics. Bandiera’s research explores how labor markets and organizations influence economic development and how they, in turn, are shaped by it.

Following the lecture, attendees gathered for a reception and VIP dinner, followed by a mini-conference showcasing cutting-edge research by early-career scholars. This marks the second year that the event was hosted at Kline 14.

Yale Conferences & Events managed the following tasks:

  • Kline 14 venue rental and management

  • Logistics for a 120-person reception and a 40-person VIP dinner

  • Broadcast and recording coordination

  • Signage and floral arrangements
