On November 14th and 15th, our Assistant Director of Venues, Emily Roback, and our Sales & Marketing Coordinator, Lily Malone, attended the 2024 Unique Venues Annual Marketing Conference (UVAMC) in sunny San Diego, California.
The annual conference, held this year at the beautiful University of San Diego campus, brings together venue and event professionals from across North America to learn and connect with their peers.
Emily and Lily presented an educational session titled “Congratulations on Your New Venue – Now Get to Work!” a case study on what our team learned from opening Kline 14 last fall. Their presentation used examples from our experience scaling our processes and procedures to allow for a smooth transition from managing one venue to multiple, and attendees learned how to create an opening timeline for new and renovated spaces, utilize existing technology and processes to scale events and business across multiple spaces, create processes and procedures for guests, clients, and vendors, and create a marketing and signage program for new and renovated spaces.
Other key topics that were explored at UVAMC included sales techniques, new AI technology, and peer-presented sessions on negotiations, seamless service, and so much more.
