Hundreds of scholars and experts dedicated to Baltic studies convened at Yale University from June 13 to June 16 for the 29th biennial conference of the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies (AABS). This year’s conference, co-hosted by Yale University and the University of New Haven, featured a broad array of panels spanning the humanities, social sciences, education, technology, and transnational security, emphasizing the Baltic region’s role in European and global contexts.
The conference provided a platform to explore and discuss the cultural, social, and political dynamics of the Baltic Sea area. Attendees from around the globe had the opportunity to stay on Yale’s campus and at local hotels, with sessions held at various Yale facilities including the Yale Science Building, the Peabody Museum of Natural History, Tsai City, and numerous classrooms.
