Emily Roback, Senior Program Director and Managed Venues Lead, and Sam Iucci, Program Manager, recently attended the 2024 IACC Americas Knowledge Exchange held April 18-20 in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

The flagship conference for IACC members brought together venue and event professionals at Verizon’s Conference Center, a cutting-edge venue designed with experiential learning and problem-solving in mind. Touring the venue and exploring its advanced technology was a valuable experience for our team, as they continually seek ways to enhance the technology at our managed venues, Kline 14 and the Greenberg Conference Center.

A standout session was the keynote address on implementing luxury language to be an effective leader. Keynote speaker Quinn Conyers shared methods for event leaders and suppliers to leverage the power of clear, concise, and compelling communication strategies, both verbal and non-verbal, to advance in their careers.

The conference also featured sessions on artificial intelligence and its potential applications in venue operations, including marketing, proposals, and event booking templates.

Emily Roback highlighted the value of attending this year’s IACC Knowledge Exchange: “I attended IACC because of the amazing networking and education opportunities it provides. Because of the uniqueness of our jobs, it is rare to find such a large group of people who do the exact same thing as you with the same challenges and successes. Collaborating with peers in this setting helps me return to work refreshed and ready to implement new ideas. It’s also great to connect with other colleges and universities who understand the culture of operating a venue in a campus setting.”

We look forward to learning more from Emily and Sam as they integrate their conference insights into our venue operations!
