Commencement 2022

Sunny Days

Director’s Note

Hi friends,

Yale is buzzing with excitement between graduations, end-of-year celebrations, and various outdoor gatherings taking place throughout campus. These happenings can only mean one thing: summer is fast approaching! Summer brings with it a plethora of activities and events in New Haven, including the International Festival of Arts & Ideas (in its 26th year), and other events open to the public community such as the 2nd Annual Window Art Stroll & Contest.

As the school year wraps up and summer vacation begins, travel is expected to make a comeback (think pre-pandemic era), but will remain a complicated endeavor for some time to come. Here is how you can avoid travel mistakes this summer.

Our team at Yale Conferences & Events is now pivoting from spring events and housing operations to summer programs. Like so many collegiate events departments across the world, we are excited to welcome back summer programs after a long two-year hiatus. We will be hosting a variety of academic-focused summer programs, including our own Yale Summer Session and other programs that will bring students back to campus from as close as New Haven and from across the globe. Attending a summer program is a fantastic way to pursue new academic or leisure interests, improve existing skills, and make new lifelong friends for all ages!

Finally, as we prepare for the long Memorial Day weekend, please take a moment to remember and honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. It is because of them that we have so much to be grateful for.

With best wishes,

Suzanne Shaw
