As a Conferences and Events intern, Sofia Lombardo supports the YC&E team across a wide range of programs, conferences, and events within our managed venues and across campus. She works closely with the Operations team to assist with planning and executing events, contributing to the seamless guest experience that defines YC&E programs. With a strong background in hospitality and customer service, Sofia brings energy, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence to every event she supports.
Sofia is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in Marketing at the University of New Haven, where she is building her expertise in business, management, and guest experience. She has professional experience as a Prestige Beauty Advisor at Ulta Beauty, where she developed strengths in customer engagement, event support, product promotion, and problem solving. Her experience in client-facing roles has strengthened her communication skills and ability to anticipate guest needs.
Sofia is a New York State Licensed Cosmetologist, combining her passion for beauty with her hospitality background. Outside of work and academics, she is an active member of the University of New Haven Dance Team, where she performs, choreographs, and collaborates on team aesthetics. Originally from Shirley, New York, Sofia enjoys expressing her creativity through beauty, dance, and marketing. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm for hospitality and guest experience to YC&E and looks forward to gaining valuable industry experience through this internship.
