Happy Summer | June 2022

Director’s Note

“No rest for the weary” certainly applies to Yale Conferences & Events as we are now welcoming summer programs back to campus after a 2-year absence. For those programs that did not make it to the 2022 summer calendar, you are missed. We hope to bring you back to Yale for summer 2023 when we can accommodate a higher capacity of groups on campus.

YC&E just came off one of our busiest spring seasons ever, successfully supporting not one but two graduation weekends (Alumni Ceremonies and Commencement 2022), and not two but three Yale reunion weekends, along with other amazing events! It has been reinvigorating to host in-person events again and to see staff doing what they love. There is no substitute for an in-person event experience and the engagement level it brings.

Things certainly are looking up for the hospitality industry! A recent report by Knowland, a premier provider of meetings market intelligence data, notes a pickup in the pace of industry growth in the U.S. In more great news, the United States has dropped the COVID testing requirement for international flyers. We are cautiously moving in the right direction and as event planners, we could not be more excited.

Before signing off, I want to wish you and your loved ones a safe and memorable Fourth of July weekend!

Stay well,

Suzanne
