On December 9th, 2023, Written Out Loud hosted their annual StoryCon, an event dedicated to honoring writers who have published books at an early age.
Written Out Loud is an organization dedicated to providing creative children with a community to develop their storytelling skills by giving them a safe and inspiring space to grow their courage, empathy and self-confidence.
StoryCon honorees shared short excerpts of their writing in front of an audience and were gifted printed copies of their works.
The works honored at StoryCon 2023
Content for attendees and honorees included a talk by guest speaker Jeff Brock, Yale Dean of the School of Engineering & Applied Science, and a performance by Shades of Yale, an all-gender acapella group that celebrates music of the African diaspora & African American tradition.
Yale Conferences & Events managed the following tasks:
- Space reservations
- Facilities work requests
- Campus access
- On site event staffing and logistics management
- Audio-visual requests and management
- Food and beverage
- Event supplies and rentals
