Our Yale Conferences & Events team had the privilege of contributing to the Ronnell Higgins Farewell Celebration on November 1st, hosted by Yale Public Safety. Held at Commons in the Schwarzman Center, the event marked the culmination of Ronnell Higgins’ remarkable 27-year journey at Yale as he moves on to a new chapter as the Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection.
Friends, colleagues, and family gathered at Commons to recognize Higgins’ outstanding contributions as Associate Vice President for Public Safety and Community Engagement and former Yale Chief of Police and wish him the very best in his future endeavors. The event, organized in just a few weeks, was a true testament to collaboration across various departments.
The celebration featured impactful speeches from key members of the University community, complemented by delightful food and beverages courtesy of Yale Hospitality. Special gratitude goes to the teams at Yale Hospitality for handling the menu, floorplan, linens, and florals. Additionally, Yale Printing & Publishing deserves recognition for creating a memorable slideshow, a stunning crystal tower gift, and event banners. Kudos also to the Schwarzman Production team, who expertly managed the lighting, music, and audio-visual support.
As we bid farewell to Ronnell Higgins, we extend our sincere appreciation for his dedicated service and wish him continued success in his new role. The event was a heartwarming tribute to a colleague who has left an indelible mark on the Yale community.
