Each September, as fall begins, Yale welcomes the Windham-Campbell Prizes Festival, a four-day celebration of some of the most remarkable voices in literature today. The 2025 festival once again showcased the extraordinary range of talent among this year’s prize recipients and alumni, featuring lectures, panel discussions, film screenings, performances, and readings that inspired and delighted audiences.
Morning Wake-Up sessions, hosted by The Yale Review, offered attendees free coffee, book giveaways, and short readings from prizewinners. Throughout the days, events highlighted the creative work and perspectives of this year’s honorees. Standout experiences included For the Birds: A Walk with Anne Enright and a screening of We Have Just Begun, enhanced with live narration and soundtrack.
The festival concluded with the annual closing event, where all 2025 recipients gathered to share short readings in a powerful finale. With its variety of formats and venues, the festival truly engaged the New Haven community while honoring the global literary landscape.
